All About My Eyelash Extensions πŸ‘€

As many of you are aware, I’ve had eyelash extensions for a little over a year now. There are both some good, some bad, and some ugly. Hope you enjoy! ☺️

First off, the good. The good is pretty obvious…no makeup needed! Lol. You literally ‘wake up like this’ and I am not complaining. Since having a baby, I find myself reaching for my makeup less and less. Before, I was sooo hardcore into makeup – winged liner , glitter liner , eyeshadow , the whole 9. Now is a little bit of a different story. πŸ˜‚ Don’t get me wrong, I still love makeup, but it is lesser of an occasion that I actually do it. You’re a little spoiled with eyelash extensions. But for right now, I find it most useful for my life, personally. πŸ™‚ You can still do all the makeup you like with them on, but just be aware you may be going in for a fill every week instead of every 3 weeks. Lol. Personally, I don’t use eyeliner, I typically use eyeshadow as my eyeliner since it’s A LOT easier to clean than gel liner.

The bad. There’s really nothing too bad about them. The ONE thing I truly miss about not having eyelash extensions though, is that of washing my eyes! Ugh. Those were the days. I loved just rubbing my eyes with water and soap, and now I can’t do that.. πŸ˜‚ I still cleanse my eyes, my routine is just a little bit different though. Another con for myself is that I am a stomach sleeper, and sometimes that means sleeping on my face. With my lashes I try so hard not to sleep face planted into a pillow. I don’t know if sleeping on your face really messes them up, I’ve never tried it, but if I accidentally have slept face first, then so far there is no difference in them. 😝

The UGLY. The ugly is typical. If you wait too long to get a fill, oh my, your lashes look CRAZY πŸ˜‚ I’ve gone about a month without getting a fill before, and trust me do not go a month. Lol. Sometimes you have hella gaps, or sometimes you look bald. On these days where I can’t seem to get into salon, I typically use a little more makeup just to hid how horrendous they actually look. If you regularly try to go every 3 weeks, you’ll never run into this problem. Another thing to be aware of, some cycles may not last as long as the one prior. By that I mean, you may find your extensions falling out faster than the weeks before. But this is normal & it could be caused by a number of things. Sometimes by week 3 I tell myself I could possibly go another week(even though I don’t) before getting a fill & then other times I may need a fill by week 2!

Pros:

  1. No makeup needed, whatsoever.
  2. Easy on your makeup routine.
  3. Beautiful/full lashes.
  4. Great for on the go mamas
  5. Saves money on makeup purchases
  6. You can pick any style from natural to super curly & wispy (my fav)

Cons:

  1. You cannot wet them
  2. They’re not permanent, you must go in for fills. Lol
  3. They can be pretty expensive

For me personally, the good outweighs the bad. Eyelash extensions are what works the best for my life right now. It’s been a year that I’ve had them, and who knows how many more years I’ll continue to get them. Really think about them before you just go out a get them. And really, really do you research on salons that provide eyelash extension services. You wouldn’t want somebody not well trained messing with something as delicate as your eyes.

Another question I get a lot of is if my natural lashes fall out. And this depends on your lash provider and how much glue they use. For me personally I have not noticed any difference in my natural lashes. There was one time I actually let all of my extensions fall out, and my natural lashes looked the exact same as before I decided to go with eyelash extensions. Another obvious is don’t sit there a pick out your extensions. I know this sounds like an obvious, but some people have a habit of that. I sometimes find myself messing with them and then I notice some of them are coming out; but it could be a hard habit to break.

Lashes anyone? πŸ˜‰
